Tuppenny Barn

3rd February 2025

As part of our ‘Incredible Book Eating Boy’ learning journey, Woodpecker Class spent the day at Tuppenny Barn. We all had the opportunity to tour the grounds, learning lots about how the site was built using recycling techniques.

On the tour, we tried lots of different herbs and collected our ingredients. We all practiced our cooking skills in the kitchen, creating a cheese and spinach muffin to take home! We also planted our very own beetroot seed to grow, and created a ‘scented stick’ from the various different herbs found at Tuppenny Barn. In the indoor activities, we learnt about a balanced diet and we looked at different meals we could make to achieve this.

It was a brilliant opportunity to apply our learning outside at a local site. The children (and adults) thoroughly enjoyed the day and no doubt this will help support our learning back in the classroom. Below are just some of our photos!
